The land of the Voulhire is a promising kingdom at a golden age in matters of wealth and culture. However, in this kingdom, tensions rise between the kingdom and the Riva Rohavi, a host of rebels whose goal is only to slaughter and destroy, which complicates things within the kingdom and starts new challenges.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the first book of a series of fantasy novels that involves different characters who play a major part in the great changes that happen within the kingdom, but the character that was brought to my attention and whose story kept developing the whole time is the humble refugee called Galen, who has to leave his own homeland to live in the kingdom of Voulhire, and how his gratitude to it makes him consider it his new homeland too.

In this first book of the series, Matthew Tysz focuses on building the kingdom and bringing out the characters that matter to the story for the reader to be able to follow the story clearly, which I enjoyed so much, especially because it helped me have an idea of what I am reading about and how everything works within it. I loved the writer’s style; it was one that kept me interested in the story. The way he described the characters, their stories, everything surrounding them, and how they felt about the situations they were put in and the decisions they had to make, all of it was just written perfectly. One more thing that I enjoyed so much while reading the novel is the fact that the writer was not only focusing on one character and its story, but he also dedicated different chapters for each character and their story within the main story, and he did it in a way that made the story easy to follow.

The only thing I disliked about the book was the fact that it was not easy for me to understand who the main character of the story is, which I managed to figure out by doing more reading using different sources.

This novel is well written, not to mention that it’s exceptionally edited, as I found zero errors while reading it. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book for people who love reading fantasy series and are looking for something new and different to read.
