Review of Terms of Service
The science fiction book Terms of Service by Craig W. Stanfill takes us into the near future of humanity, where we have given artificial intelligence (AI) systems a great deal of control over our lives, and they have now seized control, robbing everyone of their privacy and robbing them of their freedom. In this book, the technology and artificial intelligence system designed to improve human life made a mistake. Your actions are under their complete control, right down to the people you hang out with. This book provides us with a sneak peek into a desire and a dread that some people have: being dominated by robots, or more specifically, artificial intelligence (AI).
The main character, Kim, is a young woman who aspires to be an AI trainer. She also aims to improve society as a whole and learn more about how society functions. Yet in trying to figure out what she wants for herself, she learns the real nature of AI in general. They have taken control of their lives, and nothing is acceptable of their own volition. Furthermore, she is horrified beyond belief by her recent finding. She was fortunate in having the courage to fight for the freedom of others who were unable to do so.
The AI business that Kim had always wished to work for now employs her. She went on a bike ride with her buddy Shawn, during which they learned about artificial intelligence (AI) and realized that they had never been in charge of their own lives or decisions, but the AI had. Kim's life was in danger, but when she learned the truth, she couldn't just stand by and do nothing; instead, she took a stance and prepared to fight for her freedom.
I appreciated how the author was able to shed light on this subject since, in my opinion, if mankind continues to rely on artificial intelligence for basic needs, it won't be long until they take over and we won't be happy with the results. So yeah, I do genuinely appreciate the illumination of this issue, but more has to be done. I was completely absorbed in the novel, eagerly anticipating what would happen next as I read.
I really couldn't find anything wrong with the book; the plot was flawless, helpful, and instructive. I hope more people have a chance to read it and that they enjoy the book in the same way that I did.
I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. As I stated, it was a highly useful read that was also enjoyable. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I'll recommend this book to anyone interested in science and technology, as well as anyone who loves reading fantasy books.
