We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a novel written by Matthew Tysz. Galen Bray's life changed suddenly when received a letter from his estranged uncle, who had gone to tremendous lengths to find him and secure his escape. After 28 years of struggle in the Lands of the Princes, Galen left for the kingdom of Voulhire. Galen landed on the shores of Magnum Caelum in the kingdom of Voulhire two and a half weeks after boarding a ship that was leaking. In Voulhire, everything seemed drastically different from what he had known in the country he had fled. He was perplexed by these lovely, entrancing differences. Galen, who had just inherited his uncle's estate, was naive but anxious to discover the natural splendor that surrounded this affluent and opulent nation. However, the kingdom of Voulhire was on the edge of war.

This book's plot featured magic and adventure throughout. I love the author's characterization of Galen. Despite his life-altering experiences in the Lands of the Princes, he continued to behave with selflessness. A forge was left to him by his great-uncle. He eventually decided that he must learn the forging trade even though he knew nothing about it. He met his uncle's estate executor and teamed up with him on a mission to rebuild the forge. I love the selflessness of Lord Eldus. Also, I admire his good plans for the people of Hillport. I was engrossed in the book due to the author's ability to present interesting characters.

The book has excellent descriptions of all the cities in the Voulhire kingdom. These descriptions made it easier for the reader to picture the settings for the story's events. The plot developed slowly, but there were unexpected turns and character additions that kept hooked attention. I believe a series of books must be appealing to readers. Also, I believe it should end on a cliffhanger to keep readers interested in the following installment. This book achieved these.

The novel might have used a little bit of a better pace in some areas because others moved very slowly or not at all. Although the novel is set in the past, several of the words didn't seem appropriate for the story and sound quite current. These are the only negative aspects of the book.

I didn't encounter any errors in this book. Hence, it was exceptionally well edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars due to its gripping plot and ability to keep the reader wanting more. Although the book's pace seems slow in some chapters, this in no way detracts from the enjoyment of reading. I recommend this book to readers of fantasy and science fiction.

There's no one that'd read this book and not get hooked on it. It was quite the amazing read. Galen's journey to the kingdom of Voulhire was very adventurous.

I enjoy this book since the author put a lot of effort into it. Even if there are other characters, it's still easy to identify the main character.
