Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the first book in a series by Matthew Tysz. Galen Bray grew up in the Land of the Princes. It's not pleasant to be in the Land of the Prince. Galen had a difficult upbringing. Yet, when his late uncle passed away and left Galen his property, luck changed in his favor. This features a sizable forgery workshop. Galen joyfully welcomes the chance to leave his war-torn country and start a new life when word comes that he has inherited his uncle's forge in Magnum Caelum. He departs in a boat carrying refugees. He immediately encounters Rowan, his uncle's executor, upon his arrival in Voulhire. As Rowan assists Galen in mastering the craft of blacksmithing, they quickly become friends. Galen investigates the new environment and opportunities he discovers at Voulhire.
The author's choice of straightforward language made the book easy for me to read. The book was a lot of fun to read. The author's use of the characters' various points of view to write the novel is something I appreciate. To put it simply, he let each character tell their tale. The supernatural abilities that many characters in the book possess are another thing I liked about it. Without confusing the reader, the author knew how to transition between settings. I especially commend him for it. Furthermore, the author expertly included the detailed passages.
There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was well-written and interesting, although the slow pacing made the storyline a bit dragging and monotonous in the beginning. Other than that, I enjoyed reading the book. This novel gained some realism because of the addition of the map. The glossary was a lovely touch provided at the conclusion of the book and helped me as I read it. I appreciate how the author thoroughly describes each city's characteristics in Voulhire, which will undoubtedly help each reader understand the advantages and disadvantages that each city has over the others.
The author maintained my interest throughout the entire book. I am glad that I came across such a great book to read. I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars because it was well-structured and easy to read. There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited.
I recommend this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, to readers who love fantasy, magic, and adventure books.
