Some books are written so you would enjoy them, others so you would explore them. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a book to be explored. The book is set in two lands, The Land of the Princes and Voulhire, but majorly in the latter. Galen Bray got rescued from The Land of the Princes where there was a continuous war. He was rescued by his uncle whom he never knew.

He got to Voulhire and breathed a sigh of relief that he was out of harm's way. Meanwhile in Voulhire, at the same time Galen Bray got there, there was a civil war brewing between A powerful mage and the whole Kingdom. Galen Bray just got there and there was already trouble brewing. To make matters worse, he had no knowledge of the trouble. Would he be caught at the centre of the trouble? Find out on the pages of the book.

I love the narrative style of the book. It is so engaging, especially with the varied points of view used in the narration. This made the book personal in some aspects in that you can relate with the protagonist, Galen Bray, while you become an observer in other parts. These varied points of view of narration added spice to the book thereby enhancing the narration.

Beyond the reasons mentioned above, the book is well-edited. It has zero error. So, nothing interferes with the message. The meticulous efforts put into the book make it so easy to grasp the storyline and the message therein.

The inclusion of a glossary at the end of the book is a plus to the novel. It is because it aids in the understanding of the plot of the book. Since the book's setting is in an imaginative world, it does contain some unfamiliar words. Instead of the reader groping in the dark for the meaning of these words, the author provided the meanings of the unfamiliar words so they could just be looked up in the glossary.

I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. I rate this book that high because of the engaging narration technique employed and the inclusion of a glossary in the book which are just two of the many positive aspects of the book.

I recommend this book to anyone 13 years of age and above. Apart from the good parts of the book I have mentioned above, the absence of erotic content in the book is one of the reasons I recommend it for a reader as low as 13 years of age.
