Matthew Tysz's book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, is the first book in the Voulhire series. This book introduces us to Galen, the principal character, and Meldorath, a powerful mage arrested at the beginning of the book and reportedly dead, but is he? This first novel in the series transports us to the land of Voulhire, with its raging wars, lurking invaders, and powerful wizards. It's a beautiful yet dangerous world. When Galen arrives back in Voulhire after growing up elsewhere to take over his uncle's estate, he's oblivious to the danger he and the entire country are in. He's just ecstatic about his inheritance and eager to live a better life than he had before.

The book has several positive aspects. It's a really enjoyable read, with several interesting and relatable characters plus a host of others that aren't necessarily so likable but are just as fun to read about. The author also creates a whole new world for us. It's described so well that I can picture it clearly in my mind, and I hope one day to be able to see it in a TV show too. The story itself is fascinating and intriguing. I had no idea what was going to happen at the end of the book or in the series as a whole. Overall, I think the book was excellent, and I had no trouble reading it. I look forward to taking a look at the next book in the series soon too.

On the negative side, I can't really find much to criticize. My only criticism is that I initially found it quite confusing. Each chapter of the book introduces us to different characters and different parts of the story. I had a little difficulty remembering exactly which character was where and what they were doing. A few times, I would read about a character mentioned before, but I couldn't remember what I'd previously read about them. Everything becomes more apparent the further you get into the book, though.

I rate We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies 5 out of 5. It's an excellent book, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I love books that transport us to a new world with a different way of life. I will read the other books in the series, and I expect I'll probably read them all. The book is also edited exceptionally well.

This book should appeal to any reader who likes fantasy novels. It's one of the best fantasy books I've read, and I highly recommend it.

I love how the author chose to write this book. A world of mages fascinates me. It's one I would love to live in despite the consequences. Your description of the book is on point. Thanks for the review.

It's a fascinating world, I think all the magic might scare me if I lived there. Thanks for your comment.

Is Meldorath really dead? How does this character connect to Galen? Oh, Galen is an heir? I'm curious how he fights his throne, facing jeopardy. Your review is awesome, Ben!

I've considered reading this book a few times but decided maybe it wasn't for me. Based on your review, I might actually give it a try. It sounds like a good read. I like the fact that you couldn't guess what was going to happen; I have the bad habit of guessing the ending. Thank you for your review!

I think it's worth a read especially when you get into it after the first few chapters. Perhaps you could read it for your next review?

I will definitely consider it. I just started one a couple of days ago. I haven't reviewed a fantasy one yet!

This is a book I greatly enjoyed as well. This book does have multiple of characters that I sometimes had to go back to find who that is. Glad that you enjoyed it. Lovely review.
