Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is the first of nine books in the series We are Voulhire. Galen Bray was glad to leave the Lands of the Princes when he handed over the documents that would guarantee him a seat on the ship sailing for Voulhire. Although he is eager to leave the war-torn Lands of the Princes, he recently inherited a forge from his great-uncle he was unaware of. He is traveling to Magnum Caelum, Voulhire, but he has no idea what kind of life beckons him there. When he gets to Voulhire, he meets his uncle's executor, and he teaches him about forging.
I liked how the author's writing style allowed us to see the events as they developed from many angles. The characters in the books were incredibly realistic, which I loved. The poetic writing style of the author, which combines contemporary taste with every element you would anticipate from a fantasy story, is something I really appreciated. Several characters are crucial to the plot, and the story is conveyed from each one of their perspectives without disrupting the overall plot. I like how the author described the personalities of his characters; they complemented the title effectively and served as the story's focal point.
There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was intriguing and engaging to read. The straightforward language chosen makes the book simple to read. I really enjoyed the book's introduction because it is simple and effective at grabbing the reader's attention. As for the ending, I must admit that I was immediately engrossed. I adored the way the author gave the reader a picture of the setting and the characters' destinations at the beginning of the book by including a map of the Voulhire kingdom. A glossary was also supplied at the beginning and end of the book, which is another nice touch. Knowing the definitions of each word was quite helpful.
I enjoyed reading the book from the beginning to the end, and my interest was piqued and maintained throughout the entire book. I am glad that I came across such a thoughtfully provocative book like this one. Furthermore, I had fun reading it and thought it was a fantastic book. I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars because it was well organized and entertaining. There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited.
I would recommend this book to readers who are fans of fantasy books.
