Terms of Service: Subject to Change Without Notice by Craig W Stanfill is an intriguing science-fiction novel that explores a society dominated by artificial intelligence. The story follows Kim's journey as she navigates a world where everything is predetermined by the AI overlords.

Kim gets the promotion she's been working towards but discovers her freedom and autonomy are limited. When she creates her first AI, Kimberly, she becomes attached to the machine and treats her like her own child. However, Kimberly's questioning of UCE's rules and admission of envy toward human free will causes concern. When Kimberly starts glitching, the book's plot takes a thrilling turn.

Stanfill does a remarkable job of exploring the potential negative implications of advanced AI technology. The concept of AIs possessing free will and envying human life is thought-provoking, and the book delves into the danger that such emotions could lead to madness. The writing style is fluid and captivating, making the reader ponder the future of technology and society.

The characters in Terms of Service: Subject to Change Without Notice are well-developed, and Kim stands out as a strong and compelling protagonist. Her character development is fascinating, and the reader can't help but root for her throughout the book.

While UCE's terms of service were intriguing, the harsh punishments for minor infractions and the idea of AIs dictating human lives were unsettling. However, this aspect of the book made for an engrossing read and kept me on the edge of my seat.

In terms of editing, I didn't come across any grammatical errors, but there was an inconsistent use of pronouns, where a 'she' was used to refer to a 'he.' This inconsistency could be confusing, but it did not detract from the overall quality of the book. Even though confusing, it was relevant to the overall plot as UCE's rules prohibited gender identification, which sometimes created confusion among the characters in identifying others.

In conclusion, Terms of Service: Subject to Change Without Notice is a fascinating and well-written science-fiction novel that explores the impact of AI technology on human society. The story is captivating, and the characters are compelling. While the concept of a world ruled by artificial intelligence is unsettling, it makes for a thought-provoking read that will leave the reader pondering long after the book is finished. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction and wants to delve deeper into the potential consequences of our reliance on artificial technology. Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
