Out of the lowest of the low, Galen Bray receives favor from a dying great-uncle. To come from the Princes' lands riddled with pain and suffering to Voulhire, a world filled with peace and flowing opportunities for its citizens.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz, is the first book in the fantasy series. After Introducing Galen and the terrible background he comes from, he goes on to describe where he is headed. Voulhire is beautiful, exquisite, and filled with so much pride from how it came to be. The citizens are more ambitious and calm in their endeavors.

The book goes on to introduce more integral characters who play important parts in the tale. We get to know King Wilhelm of Voulhire as a man who loves his kingdom but as with any other powerful nation, he has an enemy who is second to power, Midius Maido who turn in turn proves to be a pain to his rule. Also, another character, Meldorath is introduced. A powerful mage who the king is afraid of. He has good intentions but is often misunderstood by the citizens which he governs.

The Aldermans certainly play a very important role in the book. They come into lordship after Meldorath is arrested by the king. Hope follows them and the people quickly embrace their plan to revive the land, even when threats from a rebel group, Riva Rohavi are in play. Many characters will be introduced in the book but because it involves a Multiverse, it's right to state that Beth, a new character who comes from another world called Caromentis enters the plot to give it a unique read.

I love the fact that the author took time with this book. I could see everything he wrote vividly. The action in the plot was intense any reader would be thrilled. Also, each character was introduced in a detailed manner it made me get to know each one of them deeply and I could understand the relationship they shared. Even if the book was introducing its characters, the plot flowed well and the was always that suspense the author left me with. It made the book interesting.

The author had an ample supply of new words and names that added to the excitement and very few typos I noticed made it easier to read. The author added a glossary to help with the terms and names in the book. Plus he added links to his other books and literature for the reader to learn more about his work.
The only setback I found within the book was that the PDF format was a little off. If you were using a smartphone to read then it would be hard to understand where one paragraph started and ended but on a larger screen, it was much easier to read.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it was clear the author had time to think about the plot and his characters were well presented. I would not give it a four because apart from the negative aspect I have stated, the book made me want to know what is going to happen next.

I recommend this book to anyone who is imaginative, curious about the possibility of a multiverse, and the one who likes to see things from a different perspective.
