The concept behind We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is intriguing, and the author expertly intertwines the magical and physical worlds. The plot follows Galen Bray, who arrives in a new land with a new life after twenty years of war and fear. However, dark secrets lurk beneath the seemingly peaceful country of Voulhire. Meldorath, the powerful and fearsome mage, is rumored to haunt everyone, especially the coastal town he once ruled. The king dispatches one of his men, Lord Eldus Alderman, to restore Peace to the town and soothe the people’s hearts. The more Eldus learns, however, the closer he is drawn to danger. Will he succeed? Will Voulhire ever be without mysteries and dark secrets?
Tysz’s mastery in character development shines in his book with well-crafted personalities that are not only impressive but also tasteful and intellectual. The author’s writing style is skillful in its ability to integrate seamlessly with the characters’ lives, building suspense that keeps readers captivated throughout the story. The characters are at the heart of this book, and Tysz’s innovative approach to character development brings a depth that offers readers a three-dimensional view of the plot. It’s challenging to pick a favorite character because all the characters are alive, dynamic, and add value to the story.
Tysz’s book may not be suitable for those who are averse to violent content, but his choice of language and editing are impeccable. The use of profanity is infrequent, making the book a delightful read for fans of science fiction and fantasy. Personally, I found nothing to dislike about the book and the book contains zero error.
The author’s inclusion of a glossary is a thoughtful touch that aids in comprehending the universe of Voulhire. Without it, the story would have been confusing and difficult to understand. In my opinion, We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a fantastic book that deserves a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
