We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a book in the sci-fi and fantasy genre. It is the first of nine in the We are Voulhire series. The book will take you to a world where imagination, science, and spiritualism (magic) are intertwined amid a power struggle.

Voulhire is a small kingdom in the multiverse. It is well-secured and better than the Land of the Princes, where Galen Bray's homeland is. Galen Bray is the protagonist of the book. He is a refugee who luckily escaped his ravaged and war-torn home to Voulhire. Thanks to his uncle, Onita, who lives and runs a successful business in Magnum Caelum in Voulhire but unfortunately dies before Galen can meet him. Galen is up to inherit his late uncle's business.

Voulhire offers a much bigger opportunity for a better life, but Galen is inexperienced and new to the environment. He had to grow and increase in knowledge about the Voulhirians and other worlds around him. Galen's late uncle's executor, Rowan, and his friend played a vital role in supporting him. The Voulhirians were advanced in knowledge but still had people with lofty ambitions and an inordinate quest for dominance and satisfaction. This last set of people, to which Lord Meldorath Dalehie and a few others belong, were out to complicate and destroy things in Voulhire. Please read the book to find out what happened to them.

What I like most about the book is how the author gradually builds the plot and creates suspense. How he came up with various towns and city names like Virko, Yamon Soul, Soulhire, Hillport, etc., is inspiring. The book also has numerous characters bearing exciting names, like Jovit, Wilhelm, Orlin, Midius Maido (head of the Mianoran Council), Meldorath, Edus, and many others. I commend the author's ability to create and develop such exciting characters. The map attached at the beginning of the book for easy location of places and the reference guide at the end helped immensely, which are some of the book's positive aspects. I liked how intriguing the dialogues in the book were. Rowan is my favorite character in the book because of his tremendous help to Galen, whom he has never met before.

Adding chapters and dates to the numerous storylines in the book will also help readers keep track of the story. The book cover is not brightly colored, which is one of its negative aspects. Meldorath Dalehie is the character I disliked the most because he misused his powers.

The book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz was exceptionally edited. I found no errors in it. I give the book a 5 out of 5 stars because it is exceptionally edited and suspenseful. I recommend it to young adults who love fantasy books about wars, magic, and power struggles.
