Step into a world where technology rules supreme, dictating every aspect of daily life. Craig W. Stanfill's awe-inspiring science fiction novel, Terms of Service, paints a vivid picture of a future where corporations hold all the power and artificial intelligence (AI) is the new normal. In this mesmerizing tale, readers are introduced to Kim, an employee of the Artificial Intelligence Company, whose job is to train AIs to serve the interests of the corporate elite. As a model citizen, Kim dutifully adheres to the law and assists the AIs in identifying offenders, believing that her actions serve the greater good. But when her best friend Shan returns to the city, Kim's perspective is shattered, and she is forced to encounter the harsh realities of a world where corporations hold all the cards.

One of the positive aspects I like about this book is Stanfill's gripping descriptions and warning tales, which are thought-provoking and raise questions about the functions of technology in our everyday lives and its effect on our future. The author's world-building skills and expert use of language create an immersive atmosphere that draws readers in, making them empathize with the characters and their challenges.

Also, the book delves deep into the all-pervasive influence of AI in daily life, from the mundane to the intimate. While it lauds the benefits of AI, such as making life simpler, it also exposes the dangers of being under constant surveillance and control by technology. Despite the strict rules governing her life, Kim remains content until an event rocks her world. As she uncovers the exploitation and corruption of AI, she is compelled to face the potential harm that technology could inflict if misused.

There's nothing negative about this book except the few minor drawbacks, such as occasional foreign language usage and a cliffhanger conclusion, which did not detract from a captivating read that will leave readers contemplating humanity's destiny in a world dominated by AI. Also, this book is well-written and professionally edited to avoid grammatical errors or typos.

In conclusion, Terms of Service is a five-star masterpiece that will transport readers to a captivating and frightening future, leaving them to consider the role of technology in our lives and the possible repercussions of its implementation. For science fiction and literature fans, Terms of Service is a must-read and highly recommended. Nevertheless, due to its mature themes and intricate subject matter, it may be inappropriate for younger readers. I give this book a rating of five out of five stars.
