We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an action-adventure fiction novel that follows the story of Galen Bray as he starts a new life in Magnum Caelum. Before then, Galen spent twenty years living in a war-torn land called the Land of Princes. The war is the result of a long tussle for power between the four sons of the Emperor of Lullabies. When he was told about his inheritance, and being the heir to an uncle he never knew, he was more than happy to leave. In Voulhire, Galen experiences a different world filled with laughter, food, beautiful architecture, and new friends.

However, life in Voulhire is not without its challenges. The rumors of Meldorath, the most feared mage, being alive are unbridled, and the King is doing everything in his power to suppress them. The king dispatches Lord Eldus, a trustworthy man, to help address the issues. However, the more he delves into the matter, the more dangerous the situation becomes. Will he abandon the town to save his own life? What will Galen's future be?

This is a captivating tale of new worlds, which I loved so much. The suspense in this book is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat. Voulhire is a big kingdom with a long history. It has had its fair share of good and bad times. Galen Bray, the protagonist, is an interesting character. He was my favorite character, along with Rowan. His bewilderment, when he got to the Magnum Caelum is quite hilarious.

It can be attributed to the misery he endured in his hometown. A land torn with poverty and death This shows the consequences of war, its lasting effects, and why it should be avoided at all costs. He is indeed lucky to have the opportunity to travel to a new place where he can experience laughter and good food and meet wonderful people. He is a curious boy, adventurous, smart, and not too trusting. His conversations with Rowan made me smile more than once.

Overall, it was a good book. Apart from the plenty of names related to the characters and kingdoms, which were hard to keep up with, there was little to dislike in the book.

I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. It was nicely written. I didn't find any errors while reading, so I commend the editing. The plot was engaging, and the characters were relatable.

I would highly recommend this book to lovers of adventure, action, and fantasy novels.
