We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a fantasy book which will introduce you to two different worlds, the Cosmos and the Caromentis. The story though shifts from other character’s point of view, muse upon Galen Bray a habitant in a world of cosmos which divided to Kingdoms. Galen was born and have been surviving life from the Lands of the Princes, his childhood was ruined by enduring war. He was rescued and brought to the Kingdom of Voulhire with the help of an executor employed by His Uncle living from one of the countries of Voulhire.

As Galen settled in his uncles’ home he is determined to learn and continue his uncle’s vocation whom he owes his new life. He finally feels safe and sound like what a real home could offer. But as you go through the perspective of other characters, Voulhire is not just a one big advance and wealthy place, far from what Galen have been known yet. It has war, it has cruelty, it has its own greed, and It has secrets that the King of Voulhire name Wilhelm have been taking care for the peace of mind of His citizens.

I enjoy how the author weaves the story and It’s interesting how he brings out the uniqueness and the singularity of every individual character on his book. I like how he inputs the politics, philosophies, logic and a religious belief in the world that he writes. It gives his story an interesting depth. Being a fantasy book, the author successfully gives vivid descriptions and details of scenes.

I just hope that the author will maintain a consistent depth of language throughout his story. I find some words and profession used are too modern for the intended setting. Well, the depth of words was just my opinion but I might say this book is exceptionally well edited.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The arrangement of scene and time line is well put through. It almost already feels like it was made for a TV series. Though this book is only an introduction, an opening theme to adventures to come, some characters already won my empathy and it feels like it’s going to be a huge story.

I would recommend We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies to readers who loves new worlds, stories with mysterious character, magic, suspense and adventure thrown in. This can be appreciated by both young adults looking for an inspiring read or older readers who want something more meaningful than just entertainment value alone. I highly recommend giving this one a try.
