The story starts with the introduction of Galen, a man who emerged from the Lands of the Princes. The Lands of the Princes were small islands that were given to the four princes by their father who was the emperor of a kingdom. The emperor wanted their sons to compete for his empire and that happened, princes started fighting for the empire and because of the war, the people of the island suffered a great deal of starvation. Galen was a refugee who was on his way to Magnum Caleum on Voulhire to take over the business of his uncle. Voulhire is a marvelous land but here lived Meldorath who faced execution for experimenting on humans but who is said to be survived and has a chance of returning. King Wilhelm, the king of Voulhire, after the capture of Meldorath is ruling the land and trying to take back control.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a marvelous fantasy book. The book is enthralling, it has a great and prodigious plot. All the characters are very well written and the magical word of Voulhire and The Land of Princes have been made very precisely, every detail is so well written that it doesn’t seem very strange and at the same time sounds very astonishing as expected from a fantasy book.

There are also light touches of humour in the book which blend well with the serious plot. The author has also provided extended reading which can be of great help because the book can be a little confusing as there are many information however it is not necessary to read the extended reading as I first read the book without reading the extended reading and I didn’t find it that difficult to read but the extended reading does make the plot more interesting and understandable.

The book, in the beginning, has all the character’s introductions which I don’t find very appealing, and rather it tensed me a bit because I thought it would be difficult for me to follow the story if I didn’t remember any of the characters and their stories but it was not very difficult and at some points, the characters were reintroduced so it was not a very big hindrance.

The story is very well written and the book is professionally edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The writing pays justice to the fantasy genre and the world made by the author makes you escape reality for some time.

I would recommend this book to all the fantasy and the magical world lovers and it can be a good read for people who are looking for a light yet interesting plot book. As the book contains some profanities, it is not suitable for children.

Great review Shreya! This was the introduction book to the Voulhire world. I had a chance to read it and it was an enjoyable read for me.
