Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a fictional book about a nation called Voulhire which differs so much from the known world. The book is part of a series called We are Voulhire.
The country has different cities with different lifestyles. Each city has a certain contribution to the country and the country is united. Magic and mages are common among the people of Voulhire because of their connection to Coromentis, a universe where magic comes from. Galen is a young boy from the Lands of the Princes which are dominated by war and he has recently migrated to Voulhire as per his uncle's wish. Galen is happy he has escaped from a place of war to the great nation of Voulhire. He still has much to learn about his new home.
The book introduces some characters before the story unfolds. This helps the reader to keep track of the key characters from the very beginning of the story. As an introduction to a new series, the book gives a very good background to what Voulhire is all about. The book also goes on to drop characters at perfect points as the story unfolds and this makes it an interesting book to read. The Book was so well edited that I was not able to see a single typo as I was reading it. The story on its own is a very good story.
However, in a number of parts of the book profane language was included. Though not extreme, the words used could have been easily replaced with more decent ones. However, as I read through the book it showed that the words were only used by a few characters as a way to show their personalities. This was the only flaw I could draw from the book. The rest of it was very well done.
I gladly give the book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The editing was well executed and the story itself self was made worthy of a reader's time. All the pieces of the story come together perfectly and they deliver a masterpiece. In the event that a reader gets confused by the terms used in the book, there is a reference guide at the end of the book to clear that up.
I recommend this book to people who are aged 16 years and above. If you like books about magic, fiction, and fantasies, or if you jus enjoy any book that is fun to read, this book might be that will interest you. Movie directors also might find this to be a story worth putting on television.
