Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz; Voulhire is a country ruled by a King, a country in its golden age. The King appoints lords to oversee several of its cities. Hilport was one the city that showed the most tension, castle Hilport housed three lords just within six months. Both Lord Orlin and Lord Meldorath met an awful end. Their deaths led to innocent blood to shed. Voulhire where neighbors with the Land of Princes, a country that as always at war with each other this as orchestrated by their father, the emperor, to ensure he was never overthrow from his throne. We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is a story that depicts redemption and war. This story explores a land with royalties, princes, fisher men, mages, soldiers and religious people. The book contains several storylines and all of those storylines are very interesting. I appreciate many things about We are Voulhire. The beginning of the story is very thrilling, the scene starts with a lot action and magic. The book progresses with the change of mood according to perspective of each character. For instance, Lord Eldus one of the Kings most trusted Lords arriving Hillport with the mission of restoring a chaosed city and bringing back belive to the people who have witnessed a lot of bloodshed with the support of his wife and kids he was also supposed to bring the believe to the people that Lord Meldorath as dead. The characters are full of humor, like the old man on trial, the strange occurrence in the courthouse. He laughs and taunts everyone in the room because they are afraid of his enchantment. Not forgetting Marshus, the son of Lord Eldus who is interested in entertainment. Also Rowan the executor of Galen’s uncle who made so many jokes at his first encounter with Galen.Despite having many characters, they were all adequately developed. The most intriguing story was Meldorath, an ambitious magistrate, able commander and mage also very dangerous. In as much as he as a frightening character he was also a fascinating character. He had interest in the magic world and used people to conduct dangerous magic experiments. The whole edition was engaging and better with the revised passages. Characters have been introduced in more strategic places. The dialogue felt realistic with a good flow of words. The events were satisfactorily described. The book was excellently edited. Therefore, I also did not find any errors. I recommend this book to lovers of fantasy, magic and also crime. There are no explicit scenes but very violent scenes the whole edition was engaging and better with the revised passages. Characters have been introduced in more strategic places. The dialogue felt realistic with a good flow of words. The events were satisfactorily described. The book was excellently edited. Therefore, I did not find anything in the story to dislike. Readers that enjoy stories from other worlds will enjoy We are Voulhire. The book is part of a series but can be read as one.
I rate this book five out of five rating.
