We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is an exciting first installment in the "We Are Voulhire" series. The book takes place in a world divided into several kingdoms, including Voulhire, a prosperous kingdom with advanced technology and magic. However, Voulhire's success is threatened by the Riva Rohavi, a nomadic army whose sole goal is to destroy Voulhire, and Dalehei Meldorath, a mage and former general of Voulhire, who seeks dominion over the spirit world at any cost. The fate of Voulhire rests in the hands of its people, who must band together to overcome these challenges.

The positive aspects of this book are numerous. Firstly, Tysz has created a vivid and complex world that is easy to imagine and become immersed in. The world-building is exceptional, and it is evident that the author has spent a lot of time crafting the various kingdoms and their histories. The plot is also well-crafted, with plenty of twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. The characters are also well-developed and distinct from one another, making them easy to root for or against. Tysz's writing is both descriptive and engaging, and he has a knack for pacing that keeps the story moving at a good clip.

I could not find any negative aspects of this book. The editing is also well done and the book is flawless. The story is well-structured, with each chapter building on the previous one to create a cohesive whole. I particularly appreciated the way Tysz introduced each major character, location, or tradition by breaking the book into sections dedicated to such things of interest. This made the world-building feel organic and natural.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The book was well-written, engaging, and had a unique world and plot. The author did an excellent job of gradually introducing readers to the world of Voulhire, its characters, and its traditions. The descriptions of the world were vivid and easy to visualize, making the reading experience immersive.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy epic fantasy stories with a blend of magic and science fiction. The book contains violence and strong language, so it may not be suitable for younger audiences. However, mature readers who appreciate well-developed characters, intricate world-building, and an unpredictable plot will find this book engaging and worth reading. Additionally, those who enjoy the series will be pleased to know that this is only the first installment in the "We Are Voulhire" series, which promises to offer more adventure and excitement in the future.
