Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Galen Bray was raised in the Land of the Princes, a harsh and war-torn terrain. His childhood was far from ideal, but his luck changed when he inherited a sizable forgery workshop from his late uncle. This led Galen to Voulhire, a kingdom known for its prosperity, where he hoped to make a better life for himself. Along the way, he encounters other characters such as Lord Meldorath and Lord Eldus, whose roles in the story have yet to be revealed. If you're curious about how these characters will impact Galen's journey and what his future holds, keep reading.
I appreciate how the book starts with a map of Voulhire, which gave me a clear understanding of the country's geography and its towns. It was interesting how the author structured the book, with parts dedicated to specific characters and their experiences. Although the majority of the story was told from a third-person point of view, there were parts where the author switched to Galen's first-person perspective. The author's writing was of high quality, and their creativity was exceptional. I found the descriptions of the locations and characters in the book to be vivid, bringing them to life in an authentic way. The author's imagination, particularly when it came to Caromentis, was impressive. I couldn't help but conjure up images of this enchanting place and its magical inhabitants.
The fight and magic scenes in the book were vividly described, making them come alive in the reader's mind. The author's use of language was skillful, and the tone was consistent throughout the story, creating an immersive reading experience. The character mannerisms were also well-crafted, making each character feel distinct and unique.
In terms of the plot, the book was full of twists and turns that kept the reader engaged and guessing until the very end. The author did an excellent job of building suspense and creating a sense of urgency, making it difficult to put the book down.
Furthermore, the book's references to other series were seamlessly integrated into the story, making it a treat for fans of those other works. The author struck a good balance between paying homage to these other series and creating a unique story that stood on its own.
Despite being told from multiple perspectives, the book maintained a consistent pace and kept the reader invested in each character's storyline. This made for a well-rounded and satisfying read that never felt rushed or dragged on. Overall, the book was a masterful piece of storytelling that showcased the author's talent and skill.
There was nothing I disliked about We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies. The book was exceptionally edited too. I would give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars by Matthew Tysz. I would recommend this book to readers who love books on magic and fantasy.
