We are Voulhire: A new Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is the first book in the series. It entertains readers with action, drama, suspense, and magic. The author uses this book to introduce readers to a new world.

Hillport, a great city in Voulhire, is on the verge of ruin. The previous leader, Lord Meldorath, used his power for his selfish interests and never tried to satisfy the needs of his people. King Wilhelm Arcolo, the ruler of Voulhire, appoints Eldus as the new Lord of Hillport. Eldus leaves for Hillport immediately with his family.

I like how the author took his time to introduce the characters. It gives readers the information they need to understand future events. As the first book in the series, there was no need to rush things. It set a good tone for the subsequent books that followed. I like the title of the book; it is a brief but accurate summary of the book. The book's cover complements it, and I was in awe when I first saw it.

My favorite character in the book is Eldus. He was kind, funny, and remorseful. He put the needs of the people above his own. He worked tirelessly to ensure the prosperity of his subjects. I also liked his relationship with his wife. She supported all his decisions, even when they weren't in her favor. She was what kept him going amid all he went through. I envy them and wish my marriage would be as happy as theirs. Eldus was also a great father to his children. He led them by example and honestly raised them.

I found nothing wrong with the book. I was engrossed from start to finish. The book had a lot of suspense, and I couldn't stop reading it. I found no errors in the book, which indicates that it was well-edited. I happily give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to those who love action, suspense, and sci-fi.

The review showed me that one can have more than one perspective about a book. It also speaks to how suspenseful the book is. Congratulations on a job well done.
