The Prophecy of the Heron by Craig W Stanfill starts on a dark snowy night when Kim arrived at District 33 which was the beginning of the hard and struggling life she will be living in. Kim lived in a future world controlled by AI robots and advanced technology. They communities they lived in were divided into districts. Kim finds herself at District 33 because she was accused of different false accusations by the community leaders which led to her being sent to District 33 as punishment Kim, who has never witnessed any violence or crime in her life is no being forced to live in fear and danger. Kim starts an illegal job and finds a living for herself because the Government provided jobs do not pay enough. The leaders know how useful Kim is to the AI Company and they try to get rid of her for some reason. Kim gets attacked and chased by different people who were set up by the Leaders but she manages to survive. After this horrific adventure, Kim finds out some hidden truths about the AI Company and also finds out about a prophecy related to her. She then decides to accept the prophecy and find out the truth. After putting hard work with her friends she finds out about the corruption AI and its creators and how they will destroy humanity. The question that lingers is, why was she chosen to save humanity? Will she be able to save humanity from destruction?
Craig W. Stanfill's novel The Prophecy of Heron was an interesting read. I was captivated with how the author divided the book into three sections. Part one covering Kim’s exile which included a lot of things but, specifically, how she adjusts to her new and new home. Shadows which is the second part where she hides to avoid being killed and also being guided to the truth by an unseen hand. Maelstrom which is the third, where she was kidnapped and had to be forced to undergo gender treatment. The plot of the book was very captivating and also intriguing. I really did enjoyed reading the book and liked many things about the book. The first is how the description is very clear which helped to bring all the characters to life. I was amused by Kim’s intelligence and how she was able to deal with difficult situations I also noticed her compassion for both humans and AI.
What I didn’t like about the book as the use of the pronoun “her” for all the character throughout the book. I as struggling to differentiate between a male and female character as I read through the book, though the author took time to explain this at the beginning of the book.
I rate this book five out of five star because I enjoyed the storytelling, the characters and how clear the description of the characters was given, the problems I mentioned above were insufficient to take off a star in the rating.

The novel also contains explicit violent content and minor eroticism; I won’t recommend to recommend to young readers. However I’ll recommend this book to lovers of Science fiction and fantasy novels.
