The Requium Report Review

In the book The Requium Report by Alison Demzon, the protagonist and antagonist characters were very much living in a real Sci-Fi world. If you’ve read Sci-Fi you can pretty much get an ideal of how the portals in the corporation Requium Scientific work. The characters are created to seem as if you are in another dimension. I was very impressed. The beginning summary informs us of the sex and relationship of the characters Dr. Collins, Dr. Perez and the Stake Holder of Requium Scientific James Geigoryan. The beginning of the chapter’s quotes allows for the reader to think and want to read. I agree with Opening quote about monotony however, I would like to say that being in certain places makes the person feel peered into who they are i.e. “when in Rome” cliché is activated.

The Private investigator Stephanie McIntyre is a transgender and has people feeling weird as to how to address her/he. Using Stephanie, Red, TezA, Matt, Zero and other LGBT characters and comparing them to the religious cults was an exceptional move. It’s almost as if the author intentionally used their being different in the reverse discrimination context.

The end of the novel exemplifies time traveling of the extremist when entering in and out of portals. Geigoryan believes that his portal has quarantined the others and that he can continue his Christian duty of getting rid of those who are like his people. Giving the readers the David Koresh and Jim Jones feeling. I noticed that the author used the FBI instead of the ATF. The Leader used isolated places and biological viruses. The surprise ending where the reader finds that there is a Michael Geigoryan James’ father was a great way to end this good novel. I also found a typo at the end of the novel. There are also word misplacements throughout the novel. The misspelled and the misplacements are not reducing the excitement of the story. The Author followed the plot to the end and I was over joyed to finish reading such a good novel. I give the book 5 out of 5 stars and look forward to reading other good novels by this author.
