Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
atthew Tysz's We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is the inaugural installment of the We are Voulhire series, immersing readers in a complex world where magic and violence intersect. Through multiple character perspectives from various regions, the reader gains diverse insights into the novel's reality. The book keeps the reader in suspense about the characters' motivations and their significance to the plot, adding to its allure.
Galen Bray, a native of the war-torn and impoverished empire called The Homes of the Princes, sought refuge in Magnum Caelum, a small village located in the distant country of Voulhire, where his uncle worked as a blacksmith. Voulhire was the pinnacle of civilization, enjoying a golden age of economic prosperity and structural advancement, and Galen was determined to start anew there. However, lurking in the shadows were malevolent powers that threatened to shatter the promise of peace and progress. The insurgency group Riva Rohavi posed a significant threat to the kingdom, as they had a history of suddenly reappearing after long periods of dormancy. But was this rebel faction the only obstacle that the monarchy faced, or was there something more sinister within its own borders, waiting for the right moment to destabilize the kingdom? How could a nation confront these non-physical forces when it was already familiar with magic and sorcery?
Although the novel is set in the medieval era, it incorporates sci-fi elements that I find fascinating. The opening of the story is particularly captivating and drew me in immediately. The author skillfully portrays Gavin's life before he relocated to Voulhire and realistically depicts the reality of the Lands of the Princes. Another aspect of the book that I found appealing is its well-constructed narrative structure. Matthew Tysz expertly builds suspense throughout the novel, making the twists and turns of the story all the more thrilling to read.
I found absolutely nothing in this captivating novel to be bothersome. I was particularly drawn to the multiverse concept and the way the characters developed throughout the story. Furthermore, the book was exceptionally well edited, and I did not notice any errors while reading it. I highly recommend this book to fans of lords and magicians stories, especially those who appreciate well-crafted characters. It is an excellent choice for anyone interested in learning about a lord's duties and the power of magical illusions, as well as anyone who enjoys reading fantasy or science fiction novels.
I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars, mainly because it was flawlessly written and edited, full of suspense and action, and an overall enjoyable read. I loved every aspect of this book and was impressed by how the action-packed storyline remained engaging throughout. It is a fantastic feature that deserves high praise.
