Illuminarium is a one of a kind book. The book is written in narrative style.
The cover is beautiful and erry at the same time.
Harper one of the main characters is a forensic psychologist who needs a break and goes to the forest to recharge herself. She is mysteriously guided by an owl to an old book.
She finds herself reading about is a young boy named York. He is a patient at Grayhaven sanitarium. It is a journal of sort taking you through horrible torture and mistreatment and pure evil at the sanitarium.
Harper is captivated by York and get drawn in to the tale a very old one, a battle of good vs. evil.
The characters are scary, psychotic and very graphic as the author layers insight after insight in to another world. The book is a story through a multidimensional tale happening at the same time the characters are developed to keep moving forward and figuring out who is who.
My life has been affected by the book.
