The moment you start reading “We are Voulhire: A new arrival under the Skies” you discover that just like the magic in the book, Matthew Tysz, knows how to keep his readers spellbound in this carefully written and unfolding story. Galen, a young man travels from his homeland to escape the conflict in the land of the Princes and claim the inheritance left for him by his uncle in Voulhire. From then on, Galen's life is full of adventure that leads him from one city and town to another in the company of his financial solicitor and eventually a monk from the church in Yamon Soul. As all this is happening, a little town called Hillport runs through 3 Lords in a very short space of time and the king of Voulhire is in conflict with a former friend, General Meldorath.

What I like most about the book is how the author writes in a such descriptive and explanatory way, making it easy for the reader to paint vivid pictures and imagine while reading. The author carries you along beautifully, making sure at each point in the story the reader never lacks the ability to imagine everything happening in this wonderfully drawn-up fantasy world.

Another thing I like about the book is how the author carefully builds up each character with great plots and backstories, making sure to pull the reader into the experiences of each character by showing their weaknesses, strengths, and ambitions. He makes sure that their emotions can be keenly felt in a personal way by the reader.

I also enjoyed how the author brought to life the fantasy world in which the story happens. Each city and town is unique in its description and valuable to the overall plot of the story. From Soulhire to the Land of the Princes and Magnum Cealum, the author strings us along on an exciting journey of thrilling adventure.

Although there's a lot to like about this book, I don’t like the fact that while Galen is supposedly the protagonist, the story appears to revolve more around the conflict between King Wilhelm and General Meldorath and the town of Hillport, relegating Galen to the background a little bit.

Another thing I don't like is that the story started slow and took time to build into a captivating read. Notwithstanding, I rate this book five out of five stars. It is written in flawless English, well edited, and I found no errors at all, which is a rare feat and speaks volumes of the work put into this book by the author and his team.

I highly recommend this book for lovers of the fictional fantasy and magic genre. It is gripping and hard to put down when you get immersed in the story.

With every review of this novel that I have read, I am always rooting for Galen. There is always mention of the complete change in hiss life circumstances. I really like how he just seems to roll with it.
