Matthew Tysz's We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an excellent novel and the inaugural instalment in a series. It's set in the fictional land of Voulhire, which is located in a harsh, yet realistic, world inhabited by dangerous individuals. This fast-paced fantasy tale is packed with thrilling action, including power struggles for the throne, various conflicts, and even sibling rivalries that have adverse effects on the populace.

The novel is set in a make-believe world, with Voulhire serving as its focal point. The author chronicles Galen's journey from his humble abode to the capital city, alongside that of other characters, such as King Wilhem, Lord Meldorath, and Lord Eldus. Galen is a young man who fled the war-torn Land of the Princes with Rowan's aid. Rowan, a lawyer, was paid handsomely by Galen's dying uncle to assist Galen in inheriting his uncle's business in Magnum Caelum, a far-off nation in Voulhire. Despite knowing little about the craft of forging, Galen inherits a forge from his great-uncle. He embarks on a quest to modernize the forge with Rowan, his uncle's executor, to learn more about it. Galen is convinced that Voulhire is a country brimming with potential, where anything is achievable. However, he is unaware of the unscrupulous individuals in the king's court and the ominous presence of the powerful mage, Meldorath, who poses a threat to the kingdom with his potent incantations. Additionally, the rebellious group, Riva Rohavi, has been strengthening its military capabilities and now poses a threat to the sovereignty of the kingdom of Voulhire.

Matthew Tysz, the author, is adept at captivating his readers. His stories and characters are believable, and he doesn't boast. The events being narrated are easy to visualize. The language usage is impeccable, and the writing style is exceptional. The plot and well-developed characters keep the reader engrossed. The world-building is remarkable, with the author crafting a vivid, intricate world that is both fantastical and enchanting. The richly detailed history and culture create the impression that the setting is genuine. Another excellent feature is the author's use of a map at the beginning, which aids the reader in visualizing the locations of the action and the characters' destinations. Additionally, I appreciated that each chapter alternated between multiple character perspectives, rather than being solely from one character's point of view. This technique was beneficial in revealing each character's thoughts and motivations behind their actions.

There was nothing that I didn't like about this captivating novel. The plot and content are enthralling, capturing the reader's attention from beginning to end. The diverse cast of characters and multiple storylines maintain interest throughout the book. Additionally, the book was exceptionally well-edited, with no errors. I highly recommend this book to fans of fantasy, science fiction, and metaphysical literature.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It provided a unique and pleasurable reading experience, and the author's writing style is genuinely praiseworthy. The story was captivating and kept me on the edge of my seat with its numerous twists and turns, leaving me in suspense throughout. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.
