Galen Bray has lived all his life in the land of princes. A war broke out between the sons of the king, and the entire kingdom was caught in the crosshairs. The war led to so much hunger and famine in the land. Galen was also a victim of this until he received word from his ailing uncle, who resided in Magnum Coelum, a small city in Voulhire.

The letter indicated that he would inherit the possessions of his uncle in the event of his death. He then boarded a ship to honor his uncle’s wishes. During the journey, he meets very interesting people. He then arrives at Magnum Coelum, where his guardian meets with him. He is amazed at the beautiful city and the better living conditions of the people there as opposed to what he has always been used to. Will the beauty of Voulhire stay that way, or will a dark force take it from them? You'll find out when you read the We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Mathew Tysz.

I liked this book so much when I read it. The author used descriptive language to explain every scene narrated and every place visited so vividly that it made the book so enjoyable to read. Simple words were used to tell the story, and the reader understood it effortlessly. The chapters were narrated by different characters. This gave the reader a better understanding of what that particular character was feeling at that moment. Even though Galen was the main character, other characters in the book were well-developed.

I enjoyed the storyline of this book. It told the story of love, magic, greed, and the struggle for power. I learned a little about magic and the words associated with it. The author explained the difference between Cosmos and Caromentis. There was suspense in the book. This kept me glued to it. It was also important because this is the first installation of the series. The suspense at the end will make readers anticipate the next book in the series.

There was nothing I did not like about the book. It was exceptionally well edited, as I found no errors. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. My rating is high because I enjoyed this book and because it was a good mystery novel. I recommend it to a mature audience because of the violent scenes and the profanity. I also recommend it to people who read about magic and fantasy.
