Many people come to the point where they have to make a choice. Do I continue living in abject poverty and suffering? Do I accept my fate and die, or do I do something about it and change my destiny? This was the case with Galen Bray, who decided to change his destiny.

Galen is the main character in this book. Since Galen was just seven years old, he only knew war, suffering, and poverty, as there'd been a 20-year-long war in the Land of the Princes, where he was born.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a 330-page fictional novel written by Matthew Tysz. Reading this book gives me the feeling of opening or unveiling a surprise package. As you unwrap it gradually, you're astonished by the different gifts you see. That's how the story and characters in his book are unleashed. You'd get to follow the development of each character as you read the story, and that's one of the things I liked about this book. We owe it to the author for his peculiar style of writing. The way the story is told gives the reader impeccable taste.

I got attracted to many of the characters because of their roles in the book and how the book had more direction because of them. King Wilhelm is the classic "people's king." He was loved by all, which made me feel like he was a saint, but one should never judge a book by its cover; he had some shady things in his closet. Maido was a man I most definitely did not like. He was too arrogant and evil in all his dealings. Then my favorite, Lord Meldorath, was a powerful mage, if not the most powerful. He was level-headed and brilliant. Another thing I liked about this book was the front cover. I believe it was magnificent. Looking at it can give you many ideas about the novel's future. I loved it.

I did not dislike anything about this book. Furthermore, I rate this book five out of five stars because it was excellent, and I enjoyed reading it. Likewise, I found no errors, which means it was exceptionally well-edited. Not only that, but I recommend this book to lovers of adventure and thriller novels.

I read this book recently and although it was just the first book in its series, it however introduced me to the storyline. I would actually love to see how Galen Bray is mixed up in the story related to that land of Voulhire.

I imagine what life must have been like for Galen as he experienced war and suffering at a very young age in the land of the princes.

Galen was one of my favourite character. Though at a point I started thinking he was one of the prince due to how the narration started going. It's a nice book to read.

I love the imagery of unwrapping the book page by page that you invoke in your review. I read this one a few weeks ago and it did feel that way.

I am happy Galen decided to change the course of his life by moving to the Land of the princes which he thinks is filled with milk and honey. Nice review. I enjoyed reading it.

This was a good review as I very much love stories on power struggle in a kingdom and you seem to talk on character development which I appreciate in a good book.

In order for Galen Bray to survive in this dog eat dog world, he has to be very brave and thick skinned. This book is a serious sci-fi and fantasy novels that explores the possibilities of an alternate universe.

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an interesting story. I love how Galen didn't give up and tried to start things anew after he flew from the land of the princes. Thanks for the lovely review.

It was interesting to read about the abilities of the mages. Lord Meldorath was one character I couldn't make up my mind of what type of character he was. Good review.
