This is, without a shadow of a doubt, a 5 out of 5 star book. I enjoyed it so much, that I finished the entire book in just two evenings. The author does a fantastic job of laying out the framework in the first few chapters, so you understand where things are happening throughout the rest of the book. When I first started reading, it felt a bit slow for the first chapter, but then I was hooked. It's detailed, and the storyline actually makes sense, which is refreshing. I was never left wondering where a character came from, or how a scene change happened. Everything flows very smoothly from one transition to the next. There are no grammatical errors that stand out.
That said, I've never read anything quite like it. One of my favorite things about the book is the way the author entangled human consciousness, and existence, with AI is so thrilling. It definitely gives you an alternative perspective about AI what could potentially be going on behind the scenes, mixing AI and humanity the way they do.
The concept of the social structure was interesting as well. It was different from the way things are set up in other dystopia type novels I've read, though the one the author chose is the most logical I've seen so far. The structure is something I'd love to see in a little more detail in the actual book, perhaps with a hierarchy chart of sorts. Overall, it's all very dystopian, but believable. The society exists much like our own does - with a series of mirage, and falsehoods that fool people into complacency.
I enjoyed this book very much, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series. It ended on a perfect cliffhanger! I absolutely reccomend that you pick this book up if you're into dystopia, tech, and societal structures. It's a great read!
