We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an exceptional work of fiction authored by Matthew Tysz, delving profoundly into the relentless quest for liberation within the realm of Voulhire. This literary masterpiece revolves around profound subjects including love, corruption, camaraderie, authority, and the enduring battle for independence.

The central figure of the narrative, Galen Bray, embodies an endearing and compassionate nature, making him immensely relatable to readers. His character adds a distinctive charm to the novel as he embarks on a daily journey to learn and enhance his great uncle's craftsmanship, while also seeking to discover his true identity. Accompanied by his great uncle's executor, who serves as a guiding presence throughout the young man's inspiring odyssey, Galen finds himself in a homeland marred by perpetual chaos and war, where survival is a formidable challenge amid the power struggles of four princes. It is a place where death is an ever-looming certainty, as the unofficial saying in those parts goes, "Perish by the sword or succumb to slow starvation." Truly, it is a living nightmare. However, fortune smiles upon our protagonist as he manages to evade the seemingly inescapable doom by boarding a ship bound for the illustrious kingdom of Voulhire. Upon arrival, he realizes that having spent his previous life solely focused on survival, he must now undergo a period of adaptation in his newfound home, the Kingdom of Voulhire. The supporting cast of characters is equally captivating, particularly the enigmatic and foreboding mage Meldorath, whose immense power is subtly alluded to throughout the story.

The author's exceptional talent for vivid descriptions, capturing even the minutest details and the grandest landscapes and cities, brings the kingdom of Voulhire and its characters to life with remarkable clarity, allowing readers to easily comprehend and connect with this captivating story. This aspect is undeniably one of the reasons why I hold such deep affection for this book. Furthermore, the narrative unfolds in a truly unique manner, employing multiple points of view to accentuate the distinctions between the various characters in the novel. This approach adds another layer of depth to the storytelling. With its gripping suspense and impeccable buildup, this book is a remarkable work of fantasy that keeps readers engrossed, eagerly devouring every word in anticipation of what comes next. As a fan of mysteries in fiction, I found this book to be an absolute delight, never failing to deliver. The enigmatic and formidable mage Meldorath, along with the intricate schemes woven by the realm's lords, constantly keep readers on their toes, allowing them to relish every moment of this breathtaking novel.

I found nothing to dislike about this book. Matthew Tysz has masterfully crafted a mesmerizing tale that draws you into the kingdom of Voulhire from the very beginning. I highly recommend this book to fans of fantasy literature who enjoy immersive world-building, complex plots, and well-crafted characters. The book's descriptive writing and vivid imagery that truly brings the setting to life will appeal to those who appreciate such qualities in a story. Moreover, readers who enjoy multi-perspective narratives and intriguing mysteries will undoubtedly find this book enthralling.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It thoroughly deserves this exceptional rating due to its remarkable ability to effortlessly captivate and engross the reader, leaving no room for boredom. I became completely addicted to the story and experienced a profound sense of satisfaction with its commendable ending, which is a testament to the author's skill. This novel truly stands out as a unique and comprehensive work that I believe would be enjoyable for a wide range of readers. Furthermore, the exceptional editing and absence of errors make it a flawless and immensely pleasurable read.
