Meldorah, a mage and the magistrate of Hillport, seeks power to rule over a magic world named the Carometis. So he tried to rule this world first by usurping the lord of Hilltop, Lord Orlin. Knowing how powerful Meldorah was, the King of Voulhire sent an army of powerful mages and magicians to bring him to justice. After that, rumors spread that Meldorah was dead, but some said no one could have killed him. An army of Magicians and the Navy sits on Lorcias Isle. No one knows what great evil they had locked away upon that Isle. The question on everyone's mind is, does Meldorah have something to do with that?

King Wilhelm seems to confront three evils against his kingdom at one time; the Chancellor of the Mianoran Knights, Maido, and the Riva Rohavi rebels, who were devising a plan to bring the kingdom to its knees and start their own nation. The Mianoran knights were tasked with stopping them but soon discovered that the Rivas too had magic. The third evil that the king faced was locked away on Lorcias Isle. Just waiting for its moment to be unleashed upon the kingdom of Voulhire.

Also, we see the story of a man Galen Bray, a man from the Land of the Princes who came to take over his uncle's estate but also got a life-changing adventure in Voulhire. And Beth a magical being who came from a magic universe, Caromentis to Lorcias Isle, where the Navy and magicians had besieged in other to protect their world. Now the evil on Lorcias Isle rose against the navy and the army of mages, fighting for its freedom. Can the magicians hold their ground and not allow it to reach Voulhire?

The book "We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz is the first series of the We Are Voulhire stories. I like the fact that the book was about another world with mysteries and cultures not quite like our world. The book also contains lots of powerful words that provoke vivid imagination from the reader; which made reading this book like watching a movie. Also, the author didn't just leave his readers to guess facts about the new world he created, there is a glossary to explain each term and concept of Voulhire and its cultures. Making you feel like a scholar studying another world, which makes the book more interesting.

Personally, I found nothing I hate about this book, and no typos, so I rank this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to people who love to read about magical mirths, wizards, and fantasy worlds, and people who love reading about a different universe than our own.
