The Unbound Soul: A Visionary Guide to Spiritual Transformation and Enlightenment by Richard L. Haight is a memoir that teaches readers to think for themselves. Richard educates readers about his life experiences and how they helped shape him into the man that he is today.

Richard started reading the Bible at the age of eight. He had a learning disorder, which derailed his progress. Richard had a vision in which he saw Jesus Christ asking him for help. He struggled to interpret how he could help Jesus. Finally, he got a clear message in a dream. What was the message?

I enjoyed reading this book. The author did a wonderful job of writing about the values to be learned in life. I was in awe of his retentive memory. He remembered little details about his childhood. I’ve forgotten most of my own. It highlights how intelligent the author is. I liked that there were no fillers, and the story flowed naturally. The author didn’t rush the story, allowing it to develop with time.

I like that the author didn’t shy away from his connection with God. He held on to that special bond he had with God from his childhood, and it helped him navigate some troubles in his life. I also like how his father took his time to have that discussion with him. Many parents fail to educate their children on important things. They care more about education and forget that we have values that should be passed down. While formal education is important, informal education is a necessary life skill that every parent should pass on to their children.

I found no errors in the book, which indicates that it was well-edited. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The writing was excellent. I recommend it to those looking for their place in life.
