The Lands of the Princes were once beautiful peaceful places to live. The Emperor of Lullabies bequeathed his four sons these lands with a sinister motive that would eventually force them to war. They battled for their father’s throne, not regarding their suffering people. When Galen Bray was handed the opportunity to leave starvation and pain behind, he took it like a dying man clutching at straws. Unfortunately, his safety was due to a dying wish from his estranged great-uncle. He travels to the prospering country of Voulhire, hoping to start afresh and make himself useful in his new forge. Meanwhile, the king of Voulhire sends Judge Alderman to be the new lord of Hillport after the former lords are faced with unspeakable crises. The king seeks to develop Hillport into a productive town, unknowing of the secrets that lurk in the said town. In addition, an ancient enemy has risen in Voulhire that seeks to destroy the country’s prosperity. What the king does not know is that the trouble may be brewing from within.

The author of We Are Voulhire :A New Arrival Under Great Skies wrote it comprehensively. It gives a lot of information about the places, the pilot characters, the history, and the direction of the complete novel. I loved that the author, Matthew Tysz, gives the reader a map of Voulhire, giving the novel a base and t sense of imagination. After all, the story is not based on space! The novel is well written, with every detail described to the tee, increasing the value of the storytelling. For 199 pages in PDF format, the author has done a great job pacing the story and ensuring that it does not leave every important detail out. I find this assuring for the first book in the We Are Voulhire series.

I am happy to report that I did not find any shortcomings in this book. There is an uncharacteristically high number of points of view. Though this aspect of the book may be derailing to many people, I find it informative. We get to see the characters’ worlds with their own eyes, experience their emotions and understand their thoughts. I believe this is an interesting way to build up the series. Moreover, when a new character is introduced, their name is written on the chapter title page.

We Are Voulhire :A New Arrival Under Great Skies appears to be exceptionally well-edited, as there were no grammatical errors present. The book contains a couple of profane words. I rate this book five out of five stars .

I would recommend this book to mature sci-fi fans, fantasy fans, and drama fans. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
