Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is a work of fiction that explores the life and struggles of Galen Bray. The book starts with the Emperor of Lullabies. He had four sons, and each of his four sons had a rightful claim to the throne. To prevent them from rebelling against him, their father exiled them to an island. The island where the four sons were exiled later evolved into the Land of the Princes. Galen Bray, the protagonist of this book, was born in the war-torn and impoverished Land of Princes. To claim the inheritance left behind by his recently deceased great-uncle, Galen Bray decides to leave and begin a new life in the mythical country of Voulhire. The monarch of Voulhire is immediately confronted by several worrying developments taking place in the southern part of the kingdom. Due to this, Lord Meldorath takes over as ruler instead of Orlin, and Lord Eldus is installed in his place.
The plot was gripping and interesting. I adore how the author gave the plot a lot of thought. I also appreciate how the author spent the necessary time shaping each character in the narrative. I found it easy to understand the description of the kingdom of Voulhire because of the map that was included at the beginning of the book. This would make the kingdom easier for anyone reading the novel to visualize. I also appreciate that a glossary is included for readers to use at the book's conclusion. The storyteller's skill of the author is intriguing. Despite being complicated, I was able to follow the plot thanks to the author's writing style.
There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was well-written and easy to read. This book's characterization and details were remarkable, since they made it possible to visualize what was happening. The author was capable of making us feel a connection with each character and transport us to a new setting; he proved that he is a professional in his field. This made reading this book an absolutely fantastic experience. I liked how the author alternated between first-person and third-person points of view.
There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited. As a result, I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars.
I recommend this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, to readers who enjoy fantasy and magic books.
