We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz is the first book in the incredible series called We are Voulhire. The country it focused on was seemingly free of all forms of oppression. The people thrived, knowing that their king and their knights had their backs. Unknown to them, a group of bitter warriors was on a rampage. They were out to burn it to the ground because of something that had been done to them in the past. Galen left his country because an opportunity to escape certain death was thrown at him. The violence he ran away from was threatened in the country where he was supposed to live a peaceful life. What steps will Galen take to save himself? Will he stand up against that force that threatens the safety of everyone in Voulhire, the country Galen was in? Or will he flee to another country and hope for the best?

What I liked most about We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is that it had several stories in it. The whole book did not revolve around Galen and his adventures. It also focused on some characters that contributed to making this book awesome. One character that I took notice of was Meldorath. This wizard was powerful both in the book and out of it. By the last part, I mean he lived rent-free in my head for days after reading the book. His character was shrouded in mystery, and I would love to know more about Meldorath as the series progresses.

Another thing I liked was how interesting the plot was. It was filled with conversations that made me laugh. One character that was responsible for most of the humorous conversations was Rowan. That cracked me up every time he opened his mouth to speak.

I would like to give We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies a perfect rating because it merits it. It was edited flawlessly. That means there was no error in it. I also did not dislike anything about it, which is a good thing. I did not see anything to make a negative comment about, which is why I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. I cannot wait to read its sequel.

In conclusion, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a book that shows its readers what Voulhire, the country Galen ran to, looks like. It showed how each city had its own unique traits and beliefs. It showed me how some people prioritize magic and others choose to have faith. It is a fantasy novel that is filled with lots of adventures. I recommend it to readers who love fantasy series with many stories in them that show the adventures their protagonists and villains had.
