We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, marks the inception of a captivating series set in Voulhire, a realm brimming with mysticism and the wonders of nature. This enthralling narrative explores a multitude of thought-provoking subjects, including magic, strength, conflict, competition, and the will to endure.

The story follows Galen's escape from the suffering in the Land of the Princes to Voulhire. Rowan, helps Galen adjust. The story delves into Voulhire's leadership, including King Wilhelm and Lord Eldus. Eldus is tasked with rebuilding Hillport, a city plagued by fear and poverty due to former leaders Lord Orlin and Lord Meldorath's misuse of mystic arts. Eldus works to salvage the city, restore hope, and rebuild.

The author's skilful depiction of multiple narratives, skillfully interwoven and converging in the finale, captivated me. Galen, one of the central characters, resonated with me as his sincerity and determination to utilize his newfound privilege while navigating trust and adaptation within a foreign culture felt familiar. While showcasing Voulhire as a realm where the natural and supernatural harmonize, the book also adeptly portrays the realities of power struggles and their far-reaching consequences on society and its various factions. Additionally, the inclusion of a glossary at the end of the story to explain unfamiliar terms further enhanced my understanding and appreciation of the narrative.

I found the book to be thoroughly engaging and captivating, with no aspects that I disliked. Matthew Tysz proved to be a talented storyteller, successfully captivating and maintaining the readers' attention from start to finish. Despite being a work of fiction, the story felt remarkably realistic. I highly recommend this novel to those who enjoy magical tales, stories involving individuals in positions of power, or anyone seeking an escape from reality to explore a new dimension.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The captivating narrative held my attention throughout, and I eagerly anticipate delving into the rest of the series. It was flawlessly written, impeccably edited, and devoid of any grammatical errors.
