What an amazing story line, the possibility of an alternate hidden history.

An American Special Operations unit is assigned a covert op to test a new technology in Iran. Of course they run into a "snag" and have to seek shelter and a place to lay low until their ride home gets there they find a cave. Inside they run into an unlikely person. A monk belonging to the Order of Saint Christopher. He leads them to a place of safety, for the moment. While there the groups guide disappears. When Garrison, the Captain of the SO group, goes looking for their missing guide he encounters a road block with on of the monks, who is not pleased that the captain has entered a restricted area and quickly gets him to leave. This makes Garrison suspicious so after briefing the group he heads back out to look some more. While out he encounters.... something..... something that will change everyone's outlook on myths, legends and the thought of whether or not we are alone on this planet. Who does he encounter and what happens with the operation? Will the group make it back to the USA safely? Such a well written book.
