We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, written by Matthew Tysz, is a science fiction novel. It is the first book in the “We are Voulhire” series. Galen Bray is a fugitive from the lands of the Princes, where his country is wracked by war and struggles with famine and poverty. He is the main character. Before his great-uncle's passing, who resides in Magnum Caelum, he designated Galen as his sole successor, leaving him with enormous riches. Galen Bray leaves the Lands of the Princes for Magnum Caelum, one of the towns in the prosperous and peaceful Voulhirian Kingdom. Galen is happy to be traveling to a country that he thinks is superior to his own. Galen has arrived in a new place, and he finds it to be less tranquil than he had hoped. He desired to become a blacksmith, in the same profession as his uncle. Rowan, his great-uncle's executor, is obedient and leads him through the necessary steps. He had to get used to his new surroundings and find some new friends.

Many good things can be said about the book. The author has a fantastic writing style. First-person and third-person perspectives were both used when writing the book. This made everything more delightful. In his descriptions of many occasions, settings, and people, the author went into great depth. The described objects were recognizable to the reader. I found the Voulhire opening map in the book to be quite helpful in understanding the settings. The book also included terminology to define the unfamiliar terms at the end of the book.

There was nothing that I disliked about the book; it was well-written and intriguing to read. His capacity to conceive of the developing events in Voulhire was remarkable. The novel seems intriguing and authentic because of the author's attention to detail and evocative language. Thanks to the author's captivating and excellent writing, I was entirely absorbed in the book as a reader. I was captivated by the complex twists in the story. What I love most about this book is the character development.

With well-defined roles, the characters are well-developed. In my opinion, the characters were likable and relatable. This book's formatting is splendid. There were no grammatical errors or mistakes in it. Therefore, it was exceptionally well edited. As a result, I am rating this book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies, 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to readers who like magic and fantasy books.
