In the future, artificial intelligence, AI, has peaked in development. The sci-fi novel revolves around Kim, who lives in a society that is completely controlled by a very powerful AI company. The company controls the behavioral patterns of society and strictly enforces the law with even the slightest breach of the terms of service. Kim and her best friend, Sham, venture into the forbidden zone, the ruins of an ancient city, and begin to find out the truth behind AI. What do they find? How will Kim deal with what she finds?

I loved the innovative plot and story of this book. I had never read a book quite like it. The characters were impressively developed. The scenes were attention-holding. I also really liked how even though AI seems to be perfect, they aren’t; they make mistakes and learn from them, just like humans. I loved the subtle details in the book. Such as the days of the week being changed to more AI-like phrases, such as “Oneday” and “Twoday”; I think those little changes made a world of difference when the author was world-building.

My only gripe would be the slow pace at the beginning of the book. However, the slow nature at the start is incredibly necessary for the world-building and explanation needed for the book.

I have rated Terms of Service: Subject to Change Without Notice by Craig W. Stanfill 5 out of 5 stars. The book was incredible from beginning to end. I believe the book was professionally edited; I found no grammatical or spelling errors throughout the book.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy reading science fiction or enjoy reading about science concepts. Those who enjoy fantasy novels would also enjoy this book. While the book only has minor profanity, I believe this book should not be read by children or young adults. There is a great deal of graphic sexual content in the book.
