<r><I><s></s>We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies<e></e></I> by Matthew Tysz follows many characters’ lives. Their common points are the cities in which they travel to or inhabit. The kingdom of Voulhire encourages a strong sense of individuality among its people. As the story goes on, their uniqueness is because of the different connections to higher beings and the characters’ knowledge of the workings of their minds. The storyline is clear to follow as each chapter is titled as who the author is speaking about. Many of the characters cross over into each other’s plots except for the main character, Galen Bray. Galen is a young man rescued from a life of poverty and war and brought to the haven of the Voulhirian kingdom. His mission is to take up his great uncle’s blacksmith business. As he moves to and through the great country, he meets people from all walks of life. He had heard about the magic that weaved through people but had never seen it in person. As Galen learns about his new home, the country is facing radicals and threats that wreak havoc on cities to obtain power. I found no errors in the writing and was very pleased with how the story was set up with the multiple points of view. I rate this book a five out of five. The inclusion of the psyche of the characters set this book apart from other fantasy and science fiction books I have read. I have no criticism for this book other than to say that it is slower to develop any climaxes. As it is a seven-book series, I figure the climax and the plot come into play in the later books. It is not a book that can be read and not have the reader wanting to finish the series. </r>
