The fantastic realm of Voulhire is depicted in Matthew Tysz's book "We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies", where a king named William reigns. A powerful magician named Meldorath seizes control in defiance of the king and declares himself Lord overthrowing Lord Orlin in a significant city called Hillport for his crimes against children. No one likes to talk about Lord Meldorath because he still instills fear across Hillport even after his alleged demise. The monarch appoints the next Lord of Hillport and is a judge from Soulhire named Eldus Alderman. Will he be able to prosper Hillport and make it a secure, tranquil place once more?
Galen arrives in Voulhire, the sole heir to his uncle's fortune, of whom he knows nothing. With Rowan's help, he tries to establish himself and plans to succeed his uncle as a blacksmith. Since he is the primary character and the author has not talked much about him, I'd love to learn about his contribution to Voulhire in the upcoming book.

I am filled with appreciation for the author's particular word choice and descriptions of the settings and times, which translate to better imagination and aid in understanding the context and progression of the events. Even though I'm not very interested in magic, I loved the straightforward but practical presentation, which I could grasp immediately. Since I found no grammatical faults, the book was well edited.

Despite falling in love with the book, I struggled to follow the plot because it is complex and occasionally hard to figure out who the author refers to. I had hoped that Lord Eldus would bring about the necessary transformation for Hillport, so I was devastated by his passing.

The overall rating for this book is a flawless 5 out of 5 stars. Given that this is the first book in the series, the author did a fantastic job establishing the plot and characters so that readers of subsequent books would have a clearer understanding of the story.

Fans of magic and fantasy should read this novel. If you wish to learn about magic's power, this book is for you.
