Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Matthew Tysz is the author of the book We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies. There are several wealthy cities in Voulhire. Each city is different from the others due to its individual traits and manner of commerce. A strongman by the name of Meldorath exposes a village lord's wrongdoings in the first scene of the novel. But the Voulhirean king quickly turns on him. More information is revealed as the plot develops, along with the claim that Meldorath was not a hero before he died, but rather a horrible guy. We also get to meet Galen, who has only lately fled from The Lands of the Princes, a war-torn country. He learns how to live simply and begins to admire the people he views as his idols. While Voulhire is in the midst of its golden age, a persistent enemy is skulking in the background, stealthily gaining ground.
Its most enticing aspect is the method in which each character's good and bad traits are presented. You will think that each character is real because of how accurately and genuinely Matthew has depicted them. The writer is a really skilled wordsmith. Everything is detailed in great detail, which makes it simple to picture the characters and environments. Galen's curiosity and excitement at the possibility of discovering new things was enjoyable to me. The intriguing universe he creates captures the reader's attention. Both the glossary and the Voulhire map at the beginning of the book were really useful. The storyline was made simpler by both of them.
Nothing in the book bothered me; it was well-written and engrossing to read. The author's distinct writing style smoothly moves from Galen's first-person viewpoint to the third-person viewpoints of the other characters. That really enhances the story. Its language also caught my attention since it is lively, easy to grasp, and fantastic at evoking vivid mental imagery. I rather like Rowan since he was humorous and would be a great companion for Galen Bray. The novel's strongest aspect is how vividly the author depicted each scenario. It was amazing how the author managed to keep us immersed in the narrative the whole time.
We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is a book that I give a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for being both enjoyable and well-structured. It was free of typos or grammatical faults. It was thus quite nicely edited.
Anyone who likes excellent literature and those who enjoy the fantasy genre should read this book, in my opinion.
