Alison Demzon penned an exhilarating science fiction novel called The Requiem Report that explores themes of advanced technology, skills, extremism, and friendship. The book sheds light on the negative impact of religious extremism on society and highlights the prejudice faced by certain communities. Stephanie McIntyre, a private investigator, is hired by Jim Geigoryan to locate a scientist named Matt, whom he introduces as a "friend."

However, Stephanie soon uncovers that Matt is not Geigoryan's friend but is sought after for possessing an important device capable of accessing an alternate universe. Faced with the knowledge of her employer's intentions, Stephanie must decide whether to remain loyal or switch sides. The book captivates readers with this intriguing dilemma while also delving into a captivating sci-fi world.

Despite being a science fiction novel, this book effectively tackles pertinent issues that resonate with our present world. The exploration of religious extremism in the story is enlightening and relatable, as it mirrors the extreme actions some individuals take in the name of religion. The inclusion of thought-provoking quotes at the beginning of each chapter, such as "It is an ironic habit of human beings to run faster when we have lost our way," adds depth to the narrative.

I found no faults with this book as the author adeptly highlights the idea that one's identity encompasses more than just their sexuality. The author skillfully accomplishes this through vivid descriptions, such as Stephanie's airport search, which evoked a vivid mental image for me, despite my lack of personal familiarity with such experiences.

I awarded this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because it excelled in its writing, offered educational value, and was thoroughly entertaining. The author's use of vivid examples and relatable societal connections greatly enhanced my reading experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to science fiction enthusiasts. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.
