A beautiful and fast paced adventure set in a [perhaps not so distant] dystopian East Coast of what was the United States. The mystery slowly unravels to both our hero and the reader. Applicable and timely discussions of conformity, LGBTQ equality, privilege, AI, and technology reliance. Great sense of humor, a little romance, and lots of adventure! 5/5, highly recommend!

No profanity, as we know it, but this novel has its own language and culture. For example, it's very impolite to refer to yourself as "I," instead of the collective "we." Minimal sexual content, 3/5. Meticulously edited, I was unable to find a single typo in its entirety! Hats off to the Author and their editing team! You could also really respect the well researched and/or experience the author has in cyber security. The perfect balance of readability and accuracy makes this novel immersing and believable. Although this is alien for an adult audience, I think it would also be approachable to young adult readers.

The story line follows an unexpected hero that has fallen, (it is taking a political fall, ) from monetary privilege and intellectual prestige. She must survive in the unhospitable world outside of comfort with very real dangers of natural, human, political, and AI. Through their adventures, (and misadventures,) clues to how this society came about, and what happened to the society the reader knows, slowly become apparent. They must choose to learn more and find a way to hold those responsible to account, if it's even possible. Big philosophical questions of personal choice, ethics and accountability. Written in a beautiful thought provoking, touching, and non stop action style all its own.
