Review of The Requium Report
[Following is a volunteer review of "The Requium Report" by Alison Demzon.]
In Alison Demzon's captivating science fiction thriller The Requium Report, private investigator Stephanie McIntyre takes centre stage as she delves into a suspenseful journey. Engaged by James Geigoryan, CEO of Requiem Scientific, to find a former colleague named Matt, Stephanie becomes entangled in a web of mysteries. She uncovers a secret cult led by Geigoryan with sinister plans to eradicate the LGBTQ population.
As events unfold, Stephanie realizes the gravity of the situation and her responsibility to protect her community and the world. Demzon skillfully explores themes of social belief, character, choices, and uniqueness throughout this thought-provoking tale. The novel maintains a gripping pace from beginning to end, keeping readers engrossed in the intricate plot and thrilling action.
The story stands out due to its multitude of aspects that I adore. Firstly, the characters are flawlessly crafted, drawing me into their world. The narrative is filled with captivating events unfolding one after another, maintaining my interest throughout. Emotions are realistically portrayed with skilful word choices, making the experience truly immersive. The well-crafted storylines enable me to vividly comprehend and envision each scene. Notably, the inclusion of encouraging quotes and a captivating plot twist, involving the death of a key figure and the quest to find someone, further sparks my imagination. The ability to keep readers on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating what comes next, is one of my favourite elements.
Even though the novel is engaging, there were a few areas that may have been done better. The plot was interesting, especially the main character's role, which I found relatable and cherished as I could see myself in their character. However, there were times when the story seemed dragged out, and some passages could have been shortened to maintain a steady pace. Nevertheless, these minor flaws do not significantly diminish the overall quality of the book. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy a mix of science fiction and romance, with thought-provoking themes about societal challenges and the influence of love. It offers a captivating and unique reading experience that transcends genres.
