We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz revolves around the resilient protagonist, Galen Bray, a destitute orphan hailing from the very heart of the Land of the Princes. In a daring bid to escape the tumultuous fate that awaits him, Galen seeks refuge in the city of Magnum Caelum, aided by the benevolent Rowan, executor of his late uncle. Finding solace within the boundaries of Magnum Caelum, Galen embarks on a journey of self-discovery and resilience, eventually assuming the role of a skilled forge manager.

As he immerses himself in this newfound life, little does he know that his destiny is intricately woven into greater events unfolding across the land. In the kingdom of Voulhire, ruled by the benevolent King Wilhelm, efforts are underway to mend the scars of the past that mar the town of Hillport. A noble venture indeed, and one that is bolstered by the alliance with Lord Eldus Alderman, a trusted ally. Yet the path to redemption is fraught with challenges, as a shadowy figure named Meldorath emerges on the scene, an enigmatic adversary threatening to thwart the king's plans.

I must express my absolute admiration for the enthralling plot of this book, particularly the captivating establishment of Voulhire's kingdom. The author's masterful touch shines through in the incredible character development, especially when it comes to the antagonist. Rather than rushing the antagonist's introduction, the author skillfully weaves a tapestry of the character's abilities and background information, leaving me eager to learn more. The perfect editing of the book is another aspect that left me in awe. It is hard to come across a book that contains no errors. I really commend the author for this.

It is truly heartwarming to witness the possibility of Galen's liberation from the oppressive shadows of his upbringing as he embarks on an adventure that promises to unravel the wonders of an entirely new world. With each step he takes, the excitement intensifies, and I am inexorably drawn into the magic of Voulhire alongside him, seeing everything through the lens of his awe-filled eyes. Regardless of age, readers will undoubtedly find themselves captivated by Galen's enthralling odyssey and the profound themes it explores.

The fusion of fantastical elements and thought-provoking insights creates a literary gem that resonates with the heart and mind alike. So, without hesitation, I recommend that all lovers of fantasy and philosophy join Galen on his transformative quest through Voulhire, a world of boundless enchantment awaiting those willing to venture forth into its captivating depths. While some might not label this book as fast-paced, the sheer allure of the tale compensates for any perceived lack of speed. I found myself deeply engrossed in the story, drawn in by its compelling nature. There wasn't a single aspect of this book that left me feeling dissatisfied; in fact, I found it absolutely fantastic to read, and I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
