Review of Argren Blue

[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Argren Blue" by Ross Hightower & Deb Heim.]
This book, Argren Blue, by Ross Hightower and Deb Heim, is a book filled with adventure and magic, with a little pinch of love thrown into the mix of this very interesting novel. The story follows the life of a young protagonist by the name of Alar who is thrown into the very life he finds himself in by some sort of cruel fate. He seizes it and makes the best of what life has offered him, even if it means being at the very opposite ends of the law. He is intertwined in webs of mystery and near-death experiences that others would see as life-threatening, but to him, he sees them as "luck." He finds out later that his so-called luck might be more than he imagined, and this luck might be an advantage he so desperately needs if he is to change his story or the story of those around him.
There are so many things to love about this book. I love adventure and magic-themed books, and this didn’t fail to impress. The way the author made the protagonist and some of the side characters retain their human touch despite the powers they seem to possess is to be applauded because most authors tend to get carried away. I like that the story wasn’t centred on just one person but on various characters, making us see different views and perspectives rather than just one. We could see from both the villain's perspective and the hero’s perspective. In addition, I love the progression of the story. There were no heavy flashbacks or cutbacks that would have given a rocky vibe to the flow of the story.
Though this book is promising in many aspects, I didn’t like the way the characters were introduced in the story. I thought I was reading a sequel and had missed the prequel. I had to struggle to understand their roles and who they were, but once I did that, the story started to flow naturally. The book had a particular language that might be hard for some readers to cope with, but I believe it was intentional by the author as it added to the aesthetics and vibe of the book.
The book is a good read; from the beginning to the end, the book was out of the ordinary, and it opened my eyes to a different world of adventure. The overall experience was excellent, as there were no typographical errors. This leads to me giving the book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. The book delivered in its content, readability, and execution.
I recommend this book to adventure freaks and those with a love of all things magic. This book is a much-needed gateway. You'd have an amazing time reading.
