Dalehei Meldorath, a formidable general and a close friend of King Wilhelm of Voulhire, possessed extraordinary magical abilities that went beyond his military command. These powers allowed him to protect the kingdom from terrorists known as the Riva Rohavi during his time as a general and lord. King Wilhelm, overwhelmed by fear, betrayed Meldorath, exiling him and tarnishing his reputation. Meldorath, in retaliation, devised a plan, as depicted in Matthew Tysz's "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies."

The book showcases an impressive amount of effort put into developing Voulhire, which is portrayed in intricate detail. A map provided before the first chapter provides precise locations of cities, harbors, and islands, enhancing the reader's immersion in the world. The description of the demography of various places in Voulhire allows readers to envision their appearance vividly. Soulhire, the capital, resembles a developed city like Washington, albeit with archaic technologies, while Virko is described as the most advanced in Voulhire. Yamon Soul takes on the characteristics of a religious town like Mecca or Buddhist establishments in Asia, and Magnum Caelum resembles a polished city with cobblestones, akin to Mauritius. The author's ability to describe places in such detail is commendable.

The action scenes in the book, though not frequent, are exhilarating and prominently feature the use of magic, adding to the excitement. The climax, where Meldorath employs his magic to cause ships to fly out of the ocean, is particularly captivating.

One aspect that could have been further developed is Prince Darius, King Wilhelm's son, who is mentioned only briefly at the beginning and end of the book. Additionally, very little is known about Wilhelm's wife.

In conclusion, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars, finding it highly entertaining with its captivating action scenes and detailed depiction of Voulhire. For fantasy enthusiasts who enjoy the idea of a parallel magical world and action involving magic, "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies" is a perfect read. This book is exceptionally edited, and I didn't find any reason to dislike it.
