Review of DELOS: The Moon's Eye
Cynthia Summers and Kaden Krossway are two very unusual 16-year-old twins with very strong magikas. They live on Earth for their own safety, but this isn't their home planet. Earth is supposed to be an 'Unknown' planet, which they soon discover isn't the case. They were surprised when the granddaughter of their biggest enemy arrived at their boarding school on Earth, and they knew that things were about to change. To make things even more complicated, they just found out that the Lil of Lurkur, Tirah, has gone missing. It is their biggest mission to find Tirah and bring her back safely. Their group just grew by one when Sorra, the granddaughter, was also pulled in to help with the mission.
It is hard to remember that Sorra is an enemy when everything she does and says feels so sincere. This journey brings a lot of discoveries, not only about the evil that is awakening but also about every person on their team. Just as they thought that they had found Tirah, they found out about the Quest of Six Waters. They need to conquer this quest, to which no one has ever returned after the first, to be able to try and save Tirah. What will happen on this quest, and will they be able to conquer it? If so, will everyone survive this new journey?
This book was excellently written, and even though this is the second book in this series, it works perfectly as a standalone book. I loved everything, but my favorite part of this book was by far when the teams went on the quest for the six waters. Please note that if you are squeamish at all, you will need to skip this book! Although the profanity in this book is minor and there isn't really anything sexual in this book, some of the scenes in this book, especially with their first quest, were extremely gruesome, and the details were superbly described. They are thoroughly detailed, which I personally enjoyed a lot. I believe that the very first quest of the boys' team will make a fantastic horror movie!
The characters' were perfectly developed, and you grow with them while reading. It was amazing to see how each of them got mentally stronger and more accepting of change after having something ingrained in them from the beginning of some of their lives. I found only one error in the entire book, which makes me believe that it has been professionally edited. It is hard to choose a favorite character, as all of them had special traits and contributed so much to the story. I would rate DELOS: The Moon's Eye by Blake Miller a perfect 5 out of 5 stars, as I couldn't find anything to dislike in this book at all.
I would recommend this book to mature readers, as some of the scenes in the book are very gruesome and bloody. If you enjoy magical missions and quests, fighting, battles, friendship, blossoming romance, etc., you would enjoy this book. The author did a fantastic job with this book, and I can't wait to read more!
