Review of Homecoming
I rate this book a 5 out of 5.
Project Tau and Kata have escaped the lab and torture; now they are on a mission to live in peace together. In the midst of trying to find a home they are thrown into a cat-and-mouse game. GenTech has placed a bounty on their heads, and it seems that everyone is out to capture them for their own gains. First Kata is captured by the biggest organized crime syndicate on Trandellia and possibly the greatest one that has ever existed. They want him for themselves and has made it hard for Kata to say no. After leaving them Kata looks for safety at Core Central, where he thinks they will grant him and project Tau safety. But Core Central has their eyes set on the prize of having Kata for their own gains. Project Tau is then captured, and Kata is on a mission to save Tau. However, Project Tau is on a mission to prove that he can save himself and is an asset instead of a hinderance. Thrown into another world he doesn't know. Project Tau is trying to make sense of everything and gain his own independence. He no longer wants an owner and doesn't trust humans, after all the things they have put him through. Kata and Tau must find allies they can trust. This book takes you further on the adventure Kata and Project Tau are forced on. Trust is no longer given but earned. The scars are internally as well as externally. They find out that they are not alone and that there are others who desire justice.
This book is the 2nd in the series of 4 books. To enjoy this book you will have to have read the first book in the series.
* My favorite character in the book is Project Tau. The reason he is my favorite is because he is the most innocent of all of the characters. He couldn't hide his feelings, he could only react off of what was presented to him about humans. That innocence resonates throughout the whole book.
* All of the characters felt very real to me.
* I believe my favorite part of the book is learning the judgement of Tau and Kata. This is my favorite because of how fair it was.
* I believe the best written scene was when Kata is having to do something that is in reverse of what was subjected on him and then the scene cuts to him showing up with bloody claws. This scene is the most tense and mysterious. It leads you to believe on thing and eventually its revealed what actually took place.
* This book made me want to laugh and cry at times.
* I was instantly enthralled by this book and couldn't help to keep turning the pages.
Dislikes
I really did not like how the book ended on such a huge cliffhanger. That was very frustrating. I wanted more in the ending, but I guess that is why the author wrote it like that.
The writing of this book was flawless. I didn't notice any typos nor grammar errors. I felt like I was there in that time and experiencing what Kata and Tau experienced. You do not have to be a sci-fi guru to enjoy this book.
